Living in Estepona, all you need to know

On the Costal del Sol, between the Sierra Bermeja mountains and the sea, lies Estepona. This classic Andalusian municipality, with a fascinating coastline, is fast becoming one of the most attractive places to live.

Why living in Estepona?

Estepona is a traditional fishing village which has now been converted into a resort whilst retaining the Andalusian touch. Transportation

Getting around in and out of Estepona is not a problem. Malaga airport is an hour away by car and Gibraltar, on the other side, is another hour away by car. Two roads connect you, the A-7 with spectacular views of the entire coast or the AP-7, which is a toll road and allows you to get there faster. In case you don't have a car, there is a bus station in the east of Estepona that connects you to the main cities and airports.

Shopping

You will find both large shopping malls like La Cañada, only 20 minutes from Estepona, and countless small and medium sized stores in the Center. In addition, you can visit the traditional markets where you can buy fresh fruit or vegetables.

Schools

If you have children, choosing the school where to study will not be a problem, since you have from Spanish schools to choose as international where the bilingual classes are given, both in English and Spanish. For example, International School in Estepona and Colegio Bilingüe Atalaya, both only 20 minutes away from the Center.

Health

Just by living with the Sun, you will notice the difference. In addition, Estepona has public health and emergency hospitals in the same municipality and in Marbella. On the other hand, there are a variety of well known private hospitals and doctors.

Work

As expected, the most offered jobs are in the tourism and real estate sectors. So if your experience is in sales or IT, you probably have more options to find a job.
